CSL: Mikel Absent As Tianjin TEDA Return To Winning Ways

Super Eagles skipper Mikel Obi was missing in action for Tianjin TEDA who defeated Dalian Yifang 3-2 in a Chinese Super League game played on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The win was Tianjin Teda’s first in their last four games. They had previously lost 2-1 to Chongqing Lifan, Shandong Luneng 2-1 and Shanghai Shenhua 1-0.
Goals from Yuanyi Li in the 61st minute, Jiakang Hui in the 67th and another striker from Frank Acheampong gave Tianjin TEDA a 3-0 lead.
But Dalian Yifang rallied back and scored twice in the eight minutes through Nyasha Mushekwi in the 80th and Ming’an Cui in the 88th to put the hosts, Tianjin TEDA and their supporters to the edge in another fraught finish.
Mike has made 12 starts this season in the CSL for Tianjin TEDA this season and has scored once.
The win moves Tianjin TEDA to ninth in the CSL standings with 18 points from 14 games. The will face Guangzhou Evergrande who drew 2-2 Hebei CFFC on Saturday.
In other CSL results Beijing Renhe and Guizhou Hengfeng both lost 5-1 and 2-1 at home respectively to Shanghai SIPG FC and Henan Jianye, while their Hebei CFFC and Guangzhou R&F F.C both played out a 2-2 draw just as Jiangsu Suning FC held Shandong Luneng to a 1 -1 draw as well.
