Mikel Obi Extends With Stoke City Till 2022 By Admin Former Super Eagles captain and Chelsea mid-fielder, John Obi Mikel has signed a one year extension deal with English Championship side, Stoke City, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Mikel who joined Stoke City last summer played 41 times for the Potters in the 2020/21 season and his immensed contribution to the team got him a year extension even at 31. The news announced via Stoke City's official website reads: “Contract extensions have been activated to retain the services of defender James Chester and midfielder John Obi Mikel.” Having finished 14 last season, 17 points behind the last Play-offs spot, Stoke City will push for a premier league promotion next season and Mikel is expected to help lead the course.
