After few months of absence, Nigeria's Super Eagles skipper John Mikel Obi is set to make a return to the team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Mikel who terminated his contract with Chinese Super League side Tianjin Teda last week, last played for Nigeria in Russia 2018 World Cup last match against Argentina.

Former Chelsea midfielder indicated his interest to comeback via his social media handle where he wore Super Eagles Jersey and wrote " Can't wait".

Mikel didn't play a part in the Super Eagles 2019 AFCON qualification matches, where the three time African champions pick the ticket with a game to spare.

Mikel returns to the national team will gladden the heart of team coach Gernot Rohr who has been yearning for the return of the midfielder.
