Former Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel, showed the world why he is still one of the best in the game as he helped Stoke City to m their first three points in the 2020/2021 season against Preston North End 1-0 at Deepdale on Saturday.

The former Chelsea midfielder, returned to the starting eleven after he was rested in the Carabao Cup against Gillingham FC three days before. It was Lee Gregory's goal in the 39th minutes that gave manager Michael O’Neill's all three points.

So far since joining the championship side, Mikel has been absolutely immense and could go down as a defining factor if Stoke City are still nursing the ambition to return to the English Premier League.

Mikel will clock 400 appearances in English football if he gets six more matches under his belt.
