Mikel to join Trabzonspor in Austria

In readiness for the 2019 Turkey Super Lig season, Trabzonspor continue their preparations for the new season as the team moved to Austria.

The Turkish giants on Saturday morning listed former Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder and skipper John Mikel Obi and Ghana's Black Stars attacker Caleb Ekuban as the 2 players that will teem up with the team in Linz Austria.

Mikel who announced his international retirement from the national team joined the Turkish side before the start of the 2019 of the African Cup of Nations.

Meanwhile, the club further confirmed that Nigeria's Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi will not travel with team but continue his rehabilitation in Trabzonspor, Turkey.

While in Austria, the team will play 5 matches before returning to Turkey.

With Mikel joining Trabzonspor, the number of Nigerians on the pay roll of the club are now with Anthony Nwakaeme.
