Minifootball AFCON Draw: Nigeria To Confirm Group Opponents June 9

The Nigeria Minifootball men national team will know their opponents in the group stage when the draw of the Africa Cup of Nations is conducted on June 9, 2021.
Besides hosts Nigeria, 15 countries including Cote d'Ivoire, Tunisia, Libya, Ghana, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Somalia, Zambia, Djibouti, Burkina Faso, South Africa, Rwanda, Benin Republic, Senegal will compete in the continental championship.
As hosts, Nigeria and 15 others will be grouped into four with two teams from each group progressing to the quarter-finals of the competition.
The Nigerian side had since resumed their training sessions on Monday with all 60 invited players present in Tuesday's session.
Speaking on their preparation, team's head coach Babatunde Odubola said that only twenty players will make the final list as they intesify preparations ahead of the tournament.
"We had our first training session on Monday," Odubola told team's media.
"All 60 players have arrived camp and we will trim the team to 20 that will be registered to represent Nigeria in the second edition of the championship," he added.
The coach led the Nigeria Minifootball team to their first African Minifootball Cup in 2018 in Libya, where they finished fifth.
The second edition of the African Minifootball Cup is scheduled to be held from July 8-17 at the Ilaji Hotels and Resorts, Akanran Ibadan.
