Minister Assures Falcons of Federal Govt Support

Ahead of the final round of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games qualifier against Cote d'Ivoire, Nigeria Minister of Youth and Sports, Development Hon. Sunday Dare on Tuesday visited the training camp of Super Falcons in Abuja, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

BSN reports that the nine-times African champions, Super Falcons after dispatching Algeria senior women national team 3-0 over the two legs will confront Ivory Coast who also eliminated Mali in the last round of the qualifier.

Despite the issues surrounding the departure of the team coach Thomas Dennerby, the minister assured the team of government supports and encourage them to go all out and emerge victorious in the remaining games.

"This morning I visited the super falcons during their training at the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja.

"I gave inspiring words and assured them that the government will ensure their welfare. I told them Nigerians will expect only victories in their remaining qualifiers", he said

The winner over the two legs will secure ticket to the next year's Olympic Games in Tokyo.
