Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare Mourns Isaac Promise

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare has expressed shock and sadness at the sudden death of former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles captain, Isaac Promise, BSNSports.com.ng can report

The minister made this known on his official Twitter handle

Dare who condoled with his family described the ex-international as a successful and dedicated player that threaded where few dared.

BSN reports that late Promise Isaac, 31, who captained Nigeria to the 2008 Olympic silver medal and scored 79 goals in 11 professional seasons in Turkey, died late Wednesday after collapsing at his apartment gym in Austin, Texas, authorities said.

Dare said: ”Isaac Promise was taken from us too soon, her life was spent striving for excellence in sports. He was a hero, who went where most only dream of.

“On behalf of His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, I wish to condole with the immediate and extended family of the deceased.
”I also extend my sympathies to his former teammates, coaches and colleagues, who may feel irreparable loss by her demise. To the NFF, I say accept my sympathies.
“May God grant him eternal rest and comfort her family and the entire Nigerian football fraternity,” the minister wrote.
