Minister of Sports Thanks Buhari, PTF Over Return of Non-contact Sports

The minister of youth and sports, Sunday Dare has thanked Nigeria president, Muhammadu Buhari for approving return of non-contact sports, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The minister made this known on his verified Twitter handle, wrote, "On behalf of Sports loving Nigerians, I wish to thank President Buhari through the PTF on COVID-19 for approving the return of non-contact sports in the country. All non-contact Sports listed must obey the COVID-19 Sports Protocol."

The Presidential Task Force (PTF) announced suspension of all sporting activities in Nigeria in March, 2020 after the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic.

Non Contact Sports are sports in which the players are physically separated such as to make it nearly impossible for them to make physical contact.

Examples of non-contact sports include cricket, tennis, badminton, golf, bowling, bowls, croquet, pool, snooker, bossaball, darts, curling, tug of war, bodybuilding, swimming, diving, gymnastics, sprinting, running, track and field, bicycle race, rowing, freestyle football, footgolf, fistball, tchoukball and sepak .
