Minister of Women Affair Tallen Urges Ladies To Turn Professional Golfers

    As Nigeria's quest to have more ladies playing Professional Golf is yet to become reality, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dame Paullen Tallen has called for a more understanding among the players of the game to assist in creating avenue for  ladies to turn professionals like their counterpart both within the continent and outside the Shores of Africa.

      Tallen who stated this when she received the Ladies Professional Golfers Associatiopn Of Nigeria, LPGAN, led by the number One Lady Professional Golfer, Uloma Mbuko Ogbuokiri in her office in Abuja, said she is ready to collaborate with the Association to create dignified  job opportunities to young ladies as her ministry is saddled with the responsibility of taking Ladies and Women to greater heights in their chosen carriers

    "This present administration is not living any stone unturned in its quest to give Ladies and Women opportunities to showcase their talents among their peers so as not to play a second fiddle"

      In a released signed by Kayode Adeniyi, the LPGAN, Head of Media and Publicity, Paullen Tallen who was happy to receive the visitors which include Iyene Essien, a 13-year-old Golfer who just returned to Nigeria after representing the country at the  HJGT 2nd Annual World Championship in Orange County National Golf Club, Panther Lake in United States Of America, commended LPGAN for raising and mentoring young girls to be future Professional Golfers.

     "I Am happy to see Iyene Essien who i was told has become the toast among her peers as she is putting efforts in placing Nigeria in the book of reckoning among the comity of Nations through Golf. On behalf of Mr President, I say weldone to you and promised that the Nigerian Government will do all within its power to make sure that young ladies like you received recognition for your effort". She boasted.

     Speaking earlier, the Number One Lady Professional Golfer, Uloma Mbuko Ogbuokiri, told the honourable Minister that the Ladies Professional Golfers Association Of Nigeria, established in 2015 is geared towards inspiring and empowering women and Young Girls through Professional Golfing 

   " This our young Association has produced International acclaimed Professional Golfers. One of which is the youngest Female Golfer in Africa, Miss Georgia Oboh as well as the first black African to be certified Class 'A' and Titleist Performance Institute, TPI, Golf Professional, Mrs Uloma Mbuko Ogbuokiri".

 She urged the Minister to support in the areas of creating and Sponsors tournaments aimed at assisting the young Ladies to achieved their desired objectives. 

 The Honourable Minister was later decorated as a member of LPGAN Board Of Trustees.
