Minister of Sports Media Aide, Kola Daniel, believed that the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, possessed quality players good enough to play for the Super Eagles, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Kola in an interview sent to BSN Sports argued that if late Stephen Keshi can lead Nigeria to win the African Nations Cup title in 2013 with some of the players from the domestic league, then such dedicated and quality players who can compete with foreign players are still available in the NPFL.

In the same vein, Super Eagles assistant coach, Joseph Yobo in an interview was quoted saying the NPFL has players whose technicality of the game deserve being invited to the senior national team.

"I totally agree with what Joseph Yobo said that some of the NPFL players are good enough to be in the Super Eagles because we have got some quality players in the league." Kola said.

"The 2013 AFCON Nigeria won, some of those players, who are integral part of the team are home based players. The likes of Georfrey Oboabona, Sunday Mba, Juwon Oshaniwa, Gabriel Rueben, Ejike Uzoenyi, Azubuike Okechukwu.

"There was a match during the qualifier where late coach Stephen Keshi invited just 5 foreign players, prosecuted and win that same match with bulk of the players being home based. So, we have quite number of players who deserve to be in the Super Eagles." He concluded.

Last Tuesday, the NFF officially announced the two and half years contract extension of the Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr. In the contract, it is agreed that the Franco-German tactician will stay in the country, watch the Nigerian leagues and invite quality players to the senior national team.
