Ministry of Sports Orders NFF To Ban Agents, Scouts From Super Eagles By Editor In a bid to restore sanity to the National team and curb the activities of illegal scouts, the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has given a clear mandate to the Nigeria Football Federation to get rid of agents and scouts found around the senior National team, BSNSports.com.ng reports . According to the Minister, Mr. Sunday Dare, “NFF must get rid of hangers on and individuals who do not have clear mandates and are around the National team.  These are players' agents and scouts.  They should operate outside the perimeter.” In the light of this, the NFF was also advised to set up a scientific template to benchmark the performance of the Super Eagles.  This will curb the problem of poor performance and mediocrity in the performance of the players. It was also decided that henceforth, invitation of foreign based players to the National team must be based on current form and performance.  Foreign based players performance must be properly monitored before been invited to the  team. This follows the poor performance of the Nigeria Super Eagles following their inability to record a win in 2020 having played four matches since the return of football activities in Nigeria. Super Eagles failed to revenge their 1-2 semi final loss to Algeria in the 2019 African Nations Cup in Egypt when they lost 1-2 in an international friendly match in October. Found days later, the former African champions recorded a 1-1 draw against the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia. Having won their first two matches in the 2021 African Nations Cup qualifier, the three-time African champions were favourites against Sierra Leone. The Leone Stars were taken to the cleaner in the 29th minute with a 4-0 lead. The Sierra Leone then after scoring their first goal in the  41st minute scored three unreplied goals in the second half. The second leg in Freetown Fridays later ended in 0-0 draw.
