Mino Raiola Holds Talks With Barcelona and Real Madrid Amid Erling Haaland Interest Mino Raiola, agent of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland, has been involved in talks with representatives of Barcelona and Real Madrid, according to Fabrizio Romano. The respected journalist also tweeted that the agent had held discussions with Dortmund earlier in the week and confirmed that the release clause of €75 million will only become activated next summer. According to Romano, talks between Haaland’s agent, Raiola, Haaland’s father Alf-Inge and new Barcelona president Joan Laporta had “been positive.” While nothing has been agreed upon, the fact that Haaland’s representatives had held talks with the La Liga side will make the other clubs that are interested in signing the striker take notice. Although Barcelona don’t necessarily have the funds of some of the other interested clubs, the future of Lionel Messi could determine whether or not Haaland makes the switch to the Nou Camp in the summer. Speaking to Sky Sports, Spanish football expert Alvaro Montero said: “In the next two months until June, they have to pay €730m owing to a huge debt they have of more than €1bn. “They presented an audit a few days ago which recognised they would have losses of €350m for this season.” While in Spain, Raiola also held talks with representatives of Real Madrid. Los Blancos are another one of Europe’s top clubs to be interested in the Dortmund man. According to Romano, Raiola and Erling’s father held talks with both clubs to hear about their projects and proposals before holding contract talks. Unlike Barcelona, Real Madrid would have the financial means to pull off this deal in the summer. Erling Haaland is under contract at Signal Iduna Park until the summer of 2024. However, as of next summer, the 20-year-old has a release clause of €75 million in his contract. While it’s likely one of Europe’s top clubs will activate that clause next summer, Dortmund’s Sporting Director Michael Zorc insists the club won’t sell for less than €150 million before the clause is activated.
