  Motsepe Emerges CAF President By Sampson Adedeji As expected, South Africa's Patrice Motsepe has been elected as the President of Confederation of African Football ( CAF), BSNSports.com.ng reports. Five candidates: Augustin Sengor (Senegal), Ahmed Yahya ( Mauritania), Jacques Anouma ( Coted'ivoire), Patrice Motsepe ( South Africa) and incumbent president Ahmad Ahmad started the race before the trio of Sengho, Anouma and Yahya withdrew. Ahmad on his part was handed a 5 year ban by world soccer governing body ( FIFA) before it was reduced to 2 years by Court For Arbitration for Sports ( CAS). The only candidate in the running, the president of the Mamelodi Sundows club was elected by acclamation, in accordance with the statutes of the body. He succeeds the Malagasy Ahmad Ahmad.
