After helping Nigeria's Super Eagles to a back to back win in the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin Republic and Lesotho, team captain, Ahmed Musa, has his eyes set on the competition ticket in the new year.
The three time African champions defeated Squirrels of Benin 2-1 in the first match before beating Crocodile of Lesotho 2-4 in far away Maseru.
The Al Nasr of Saudi Arabia attacker expressed his optimism in the individual ability of Nigeria players and also the team ahead of the next round of qualifiers.
“This year is going to be a great one for us as a team and as individual. We still have to book our 2021 AFCON ticket. We have that in mind, and we will give our best to achieve our aim in other football engagements'' he said.
Nigeria who top the group with 3 points will next face Sierra Leone the match day 3 of he qualifier.
Super Eagles finished in third position at the 2019 edition of the African Cup of Nations after missing the last two editions in 2015 and 2017.
