The president of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) , Augustin Senghor, has said that his candidacy for the presidency of the African Football Confederation (CAF) was not at odds with FIFA's intentions for football continental, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
`` No, my candidacy does not scare Fifa. Without revealing a secret, I can tell you that I discussed my projects in Yaoundé with its president, Gianni Infantino, '' he said during a press conference.
"If there are any doubts, it's up to us to remove them," added Augustin Senghor, who says he wants to open up to Fifa to allow African football to make a quantum leap.
In Praia, the president of the FSF presented his program to journalists and his counterparts from countries in zone A of the Union of West African Football Federations (UFOA).
“Since 2015, with the advent of the new management team, with President Gianni Infantino, the development of CAF has occupied a central place in Fifa,” he said.
Augustin Senghor promises, if he is elected president of CAF, to consolidate the relations of the African body with the world organization.
