N10.8 million up for grab in para-table tennis championship in Lagos

The organiser of the Para table tennis championship in Nigeria has announced the prize money for the maiden edition of the competition.

According to the chairman of the Para Table Tennis in Nigeria, Elderson Bankole the sum of Ten million and eight hundred thousand (N10.8 million) has put down as the prize money for the competition in Lagos.

Eight countries has indicated their readiness to participate in the tournament which is slated to take place at the Molade Okoya Thomas Hall of Team in Balogun stadium.

The expected countries are Ghana, Morocco, Cote d'Ivoire, Benin, Togo, Egypt, South Africa and the hosts, Nigeria.

Classification of participating athletes commences from December 16th and ends 18th, the ITTF classifier will classify the players to their categories while the tournament will serve off on December 19th to 21st with top three in each event getting the prize money.
