N4.1m Debt: "We Didn't Owe You A Dime" - Tornadoes Reply Biffo

The Nigeria National League side, Niger Tornadoes have debunked the claim by their former employee, Coach Abdullahi Biffo that the Minna based club owed him Four Million and One hundred thousand naira (N4.1m), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Kwara United head coach, Biffo had submitted a letter through his lawyer demanding for payment of the debt owed by the club.

Niger Tornadoes in a statement claimed that the coach after being suspended by Tornadoes for anti-club activity resigned to take up a new job in the Nigeria League.

The club on Thursday in a statement made available to BSN Sports signed by the club's media officer, Alhassan Kutigi reads" To set the record straight, Biffo was suspended alongside our erstwhile Team Manager after they connived and inappropriately transferred Ismaila Gata who was at the time one of the golden boot contenders in the premier League when the season (2016/2017) was still on.

"He (Biffo) and then TM claimed to have secured an International Transfer for the player which the Club Chairman graciously approved the release of his clearance haven considered the importance of the deal to all parties involved, but to the dismay the club the said player (Ismaila Gata) was featured against Niger Tornadoes in Lokoja by another Premier League Team against the initial agreement.

"The Management moved swiftly and placed suspension on the duo for what it termed as anti club dealing/activities.

"Coach Biffo on receipt of the suspension, wrote a letter resigning on akara piece of paper, and barely a month, took up appointment with another Premier League Club.

"So, except Abdullahi Biffo is out with other motives, which we don't think a coach of his caliber should drift to, his claims are unfounded.

"We have acknowledged the receipt of his letter and will act on it appropriately.

"However, since he (Biffo) chose to go to press, aside taking legal means thereby violating NFF conflict resolution mechanism under its statutes, we are therefore compelled to come in the open and set the record straight."
