NANF Seeks High Court Orders to Stop Pinnick-led NFF Elections

By Admin In a case filed on Friday September 14th 2018, the National Association of Nigeria Footballers (NANF) has approached the Federal High Court Abuja asking the court to restrain the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), CAF 1st Vice-President Mr. Amaju Pinnick, Bar. Sanni Muhammed Katu (electoral committee cahirman), Hon. Minister Federal Ministry of Sports from going ahead with planned elective congress slated for 20th September 2018 in Katsina state or any congress pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice in court. The footballers union also asked the federal high court to restrain the Inspector General of Police and Commissioner of Police Katsina state not to provide them with security on the date of the executive elective congress. In paragraph 16 of the 16 page letter filed before the court with suit no: FHC/ABJ/CS/999/18 NANF stated that regardless of the subsisting orders and decision of Supreme Court, Amaju Pinnick and his led executive committee of the Nigeria Football Federation has continued to represent and act as the NFF president and executive members. In paragraph 6 of the motion exparte titled: "Brought Pursuant to Order 26 Rules 8, 9 and 18 of the Federal High Court Procedure Rule 2009 And the Inherent Jurisdiction of this Court" the Nigeria footballers union prayed that the high court should stop the NFF from conducting the elective congress of NFF elective committee which reads in part; "An interlocutory order restraining Amaju Pinnick, Barrister Muhammed Sanni Katu, Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports, respondents for themselves, privies, agents, or whatsoever from going ahead with planned elective congress of Nigeria Football Federation executive committee slated on 20th September 2018 in Katsina state or any other congress pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice before this honourable court."
