It would be recalled that FC Taraba are owing their players backlogs of salaries and allowances for the past three years. As if that was not enough, the players were sacked by the state government without their entitlements despite several assurance and promises to pay the players and officials by the state governor, Mr Darius Ishiaku. In order to participate in the second tier league this season, the Taraba state government made arrangement for two players from each of twenty-one local governments in the state to prosecute the 2017/18 season. Speaking with www.bsnsports.com.ng,the Secretary General of tje Union, Austin Popo said: "We were shocked when we heard that FC Taraba will participate in this season's NNL, when the league body knows that they are yet to settle the players they used in executing last season's league. "This is callous and we condenmed it in totality, the league cannot develop with this attitude towards players." "Nigerian Players deserve more than this treatment from the NFF and the leagues body, it is a shame to run the league in this manner." He continued. "Going to the Industrial court should be the only option left for the players and officials of the club." He concluded.
