National Assembly Blames Non-payment of D'Tigress Bonuses, Allowance On Non-existence of NSC By Niyi Busari The House Committee on Sports has blamed the inability of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) to offset the unpaid bonuses and allowance of the Nigeria senior women's national basketball team, D'Tigress on non-existence of National Sports Commission (NSC). The Committee on poor funding raised by the former NBBF president, Musa Kida suggested the establishment of National Sports Commission as solution. Olumide Osoba, Chairman, House Committee on Sports while speaking with journalists in Abuja, said, "Without a National Sports Commission we will continue having issues with Federations. The National Sports Commission is the overall body that supervises the federations and we used to have and things were working smoothly. Obviously, some people abused the power and the President was advised by the previous Minister to abolish the NSC. Presently, the minister is working with both houses of parliament. Meanwhile, the whole team of D'Tigress in a short video that went viral had made known their demands which are as follows; payment of all amount they're owed since 2018, been celebrated and invitation to Aso Rock, improved conditions for players, a convenient Bus for the national team, world class Arena and set-aside bonus for every competition. They reiterated that money is just one of the items on the laundry list of D'Tigress and until when the full amount they're owed is paid, they're not going to represent Nigeria in any Competition again. The African champions, D'Tigress won the Afrobasket title three consecutive times with the latest in Cameroon.
