National Division One Handball League Begins Today In Benin City. By Our Reporter All is now set for the commencement of the National Division One League which commences tomorrow in Benin City, Edo State. Secretary General of the Handball Federation of Nigeria Alhaji Maigidansanma Mohammed, in a statement revealed that the competition would kick start with a technical meeting involving all the officials of each team at 8pm on Friday. Draws for the matches would also be held in the male and female respectively. Matches commences bright and early on Saturday morning. Alhaji Maigidansanma also stated that officials of the HFN are already in Benin to ensure that everything needed for the successful hosting of the league are in place alongside the Edo State Handball Association. The National Division One League, a qualifying tournament for the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League, will hold in Benin City, Edo State from this Friday 9th to Saturday 17th of July 2021. Four teams (two teams apiece for the male and female category) will get promotion into the top tier Prudent Energy Handball Premier League from the Division One League.
