The just-concluded National Olympic trials at the Yaba Tech Sporting Compkex, Lagos came with thrills and frills that got athletics fans and enthusiasts alike standing off their seats in awe and jubilation.

In the 100 metres women event, Nigeria's track queen Blessing Okagbare returned to the trials after some years away to record an historical 10.63s to win the event. Enoch Adegoke was the man of the tournament as his 10.00s time earned him not just the win in the men category of the 100 metres, but also an Olympic qualification.
