NAWIS Inaugurates Kwara State Chapter

The National Association of Women In Sports (NAWIS) has inaugurated their Ilorin, Kwara State Chapter on Saturday as part of efforts to increase the number of women in sports and encouraged women participation especially at the grassroots level where talents are discovered.
Speaking during the inauguration in Ilorin, the national president of the body, Mrs. Florence Adeyanju said women contribution to sports development in Nigeria can not be overemphasised , "The area of sports should not be neglected, they use this opportunity to mobilise, children, girls and women for career and sports development.
Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Kwara State, Jonah Kolo who also graced the occasion said, "the place of women in sports development is an increasingly vast one."
The inauguration which was held at Mandate Hall, Radio Kwara had other dignitaries present at the induction venue some of which are; First Lady Kwara State, Olufolake Abdulrazaq who was represented by Barr Iyabo Funke Banire, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Kwara State, Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development Kwara State, Joana Nnasua Kolo, SA To the Governor on Youth and Sports Development among others.
Twenty-one states including the Federal Capital Territory have been inaugurated by NAWIS while others will be done subsequently.
