NBBF Elections: Our Stand On NBBF Elections Will Be Known Soon - Ministry of Sports

Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has said that it is studying the recent happenings regarding the two elections that produced two presidents to the office of Nigeria Basketball federation (NBBF), saying it will make its decision known soon.
In a press statement issued by the Director of Press, Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Manga Mohammed, on Wednesday in Abuja revealed that ministry will soon pass its judgment.
According to the statement, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development is aware of the recent developments around the Elective Congresses of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) in Benin City and Abuja on Monday, January 31st, 2022.
“The Ministry awaits the reports of the Congresses upon which it will make its position known.”
It will be recalled that on Monday, two parallel elections were concluded in Edo and Abuja respectively which produced two presidents.
In the elections held at the Royal Marble Hotel in Benin City, with 37 delegates from the States voting, Engr Ahmadu Musa Kida was re- elected as President of the Federation for the next four years. Babatunde Ogunade was elected as the Vice President. Ugo Udezue was elected as the South East representative, while former D’Tigers Captain, Olumide Oyedeji was elected as the representative of the South West. Others elected are Abba Kaka Abdulkadir (North East Representative), Deshi Adam Janlong (North Central Representative) and Yusuf Surajo (North West Representative)
In Abuja, Mark Igoche was elected and sworn-in in a congress held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, with Osita Nwachukwu as Vice President.
