NBBF rolls out 2019 programme of activities

The Tijjani Umar led Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF Saturday held a one day Consultative Meeting at its Abuja secretariat with a cross section of stakeholders from around the country in attendance.

After exhaustive deliberations, the meeting, according to a press statement from its Media Unit, adopted a bouquet of programmes the federation plans to implement in 2019.

The statement said that to usher in the 2019 season, the NBBF plans to organise the season opening Stakeholders Consultative Forum, an avenue where the stakeholders review activities of the previous year as well as discuss other technical matters.

Also on the card for the NBBF, the statement disclosed, are the organisation of a new pre-season men and women's league, the 2019 Kwese Premier League as well as a revamped and innovative National Women's League.

According to the statement, the NBBF “will introduce a grassroot-based Talent Development programme to consolidate its nationwide talent hunt in the country”, as well as embark on “an integrated training and development of technical officials to further boost the game in the country.”
