Wilfred Ndidi is now joint most valuable Nigerian footballer with Napoli forward Victor Osimhen following a rise in his market value from 45m to 50m euros, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The Leicester City midfielder has been one of the key players for his English Premier League side since he joined in January of 2017 from Belgian Pro League side, RC Genk. He has been voted the Premier League best tackler for two of the four seasons he has spent in England. Since his switch to the Premier League, his market value has continued to rise from 8m euros in October 2016 as a 19 year old playing for RC Genk to 14m euros barely two months after he joined Leicester City in January 2017. His value rose to 18m in January 2018 before a geometrical rise first to 25m euros in May 2018 and then 35m euros in December of the same year. The Nigeria international’s value rose to 45m euros in October 2020 before the latest rise by 5m euros. Since the start of the ongoing season last September, Ndidi has overcome several obstacles including a tear in the abductor muscle that saw him missed eight Premier League games between the end of September 2019 and end of November 2019 and a thigh muscle strain in January and February this year, missing three games in the process. Inspite of the setback, Ndidi has started 16 of the 17 games he featured in for the Foxes so far this term, scoring once and providing three assists. Two of the assists were for his compatriot, Kelechi Iheanacho who has scored five goals in his last four Premier League games.
