By Emediong Silver

The English Premier League continues today and for Brendan Rodgers and his Leicester City side, injuries have been their biggest headache this season. Super Eagles midfielder, Wifred Ndidi could continue to deputise at the center back position in the absence of former Manchester United defender, Johnny Evans and Wes Morgan. Ndidi impressed as a center back against West Brom in the first match of the 2020/21 English Premier League for the Foxes. He made a team-high four clearances against West Brom, made two interceptions and two tackles and finished the
match with a game-high 93 passes. In a prematch conference, Rodgers has since confirmed that the Nigerian could start as a center back this weekend
according to BBC.
"He played the position very well and he has the
attributes to play there. We don’t want him there for a long period of time", Rodgers stated.

This confirmation will be a goodnews to many Nigerians hoping to see the combative midfielder continuing as a midfielder for the national team.
