New 20, 000 Capacity Stadium Excites FOSLA Football Club Management

The Management of FOSLA Football Club, FFC has expressed delight at the construction of 20, 000 capacity stadium for their home matches in the 2019/2020 Nationwide League One.

Speaking on the backdrop of the commencement of construction work at the site in Karshi, Abuja, the General Manager and the Team Manager of the club were elated over the development said that having such edifice will go a long way in not only motivating the players, but promote football in the vicinity and FCT in general.

The General Manager of the club, Tolu Oguntimehin said that beyond the fact that the stadium will be home to the FFC, he added that it will provide the needed ground for football development and growth.
"This is a new dawn in football in Nigeria. This is the first of its kind and at management level, we are delighted. The prospect of playing in the field is enticing and we are looking forward to our first match there.
Mr Oguntimehin who has managed several clubs including NNL sides provided updates on the timeline of the construction.
"The construction will be in three phases: the first phase is the clearing, grading and rolling of the pitch.Then grassing of the pitch which we hope can be completed before the commencement of the Nationwide League One in March".

Continuing Oguntimehin who was the General Manager of Supreme court FC said, "The second phase is building of pavilion, dressing rooms and other basic infrastructure.

"The third phase is the shopping mall which would include shops, offices that will be built around the stadium.
"The target is to build a community and business-oriented team, which we are starting with our own private stadium in Karshi which is for the school, the club and the community," he said.

Going forward, the Sports broadcast ace said that "The football club is not just about winning laurels but building a legacy that will surpass the test of time and creating enabling environment for students to mature while combining education with football."

Speaking in the same vein, the Team Manager of the FFC, Lawal Ibrahim, said the excitement is endless, but added that the club looks forward to use the stadium on their opening match of the NLO 2020 season
"We are all happy with this development and we are all looking forward to playing our home matches there as the league starts in March.
"The construction company SCC is a reputable firm and we are trusting that they will meet the stipulated time.
The construction is expected to be completed latest end of February for the Nationwide League One season
"We are making our debut in the league this season, and having the stadium ready will be an added impetus,” he said.
