Newcastle Express Interest In Nigerian Striker, Victor Osihmen

English Premier Peague side, Newcastle are in contention to sign Nigerian and Lille striker, Victor osimhen even as the English side is in dire need of a striker, Bsnsports.com.ng reports

Victor Osihmen has made himself a force to reckon with after a dazzling performance for his club side Lille. Osihmen joined Lille in August 2019 and he has scored 7 goals in 9 appearances for the club. His performance also led him to the winning of the best player in the French Ligue 1 for September.

According to reports, Laliga giants, Barcelona are also eyeing the young star as a possible replacement for Luiz Suarez.

Osimhen's performance at Sporting Charleroi where he banged 20 goals in just his first season in Belgium, is seen as one of his best career performances which led to him joining Lille for £10.8million

According to reports, Newcastle’s head of recruitment Steve Nickson has included Osimhen in their list of striking options for Steve Bruce in the next couple of windows and already sent out scout to monitor the progress of the young striker.

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce on Friday said that plans, has been made to bring in new players to Newcastle, in which they hope they can strike a deal for the Nigerian.

On Friday, Bruce said: “We’ll start planning in the next couple of weeks, but January is always a difficult window.

“Well see what’s out there.”
