The football body advertises the positions of national teams head coaches except that of Super Eagles few weeks back after relieving the former coaches of their duties and coaches submitted their applications for the available positions
The Head of NFF Technical Department, Bitrus Bewarang revealed that Bankole Olowokere is named as the First Assistant coach and Queendolyn Akpan as the Second Assistant while Niger Tornadoes goalkeeper trainer, Abdulrahman is the team's goalkeeper trainer.
He revealed that the NFF Technical Department are saddled with the responsibility of appointing only the assistant coaches while PriceWater handles the appointment of the head coach of the age grade of the national teams.
"What will be directed to do for now, is that we technical department are only in charge of getting assistance, the head coaches has been handed over to PriceWater Limited.
The reason why we gotten the Flamingos starting is because of time constraints, we have our qualifying on the 28th of February and we are just starting a training now.
What we did is to get the assistance start working and to make the job for the coaches easier, we decided to get to in touch with some of the premier league teams to give their players within that age limit.
"So, i am very happy to say that the coaches of national league are working very well, so we can have almost 20 players in camp.
We called them assistant coach 1 and 2 and then we have the goalkeeper trainer, that is much we can do for now. The assistant coach 1 is Bankole Olowokere from Lagos and the goalkeeper trainer of Niger Tornadoes Abdularahman. So that is that for now and they have Started training.
We have applications for coaches and we are sorting them out and the next one we are going to announce is under 20 Falconets because they have the next international match.
So far we have not reach other teams and I cannot tell you, the one I know for sure is this Flamingos which I have given their names to you," he said.
The Flamingos in 2018 failed to qualify for the FIFA U17 Women World after Nigeria was knocked out by Cameroon. NFF appointed coach Bala Nkiyu 10 days to the world cup qualifier match against Cameroon. Within the little time, the team managed to record a 2-2 draw in Nigeria but came out with another 1-1 in Yaounde.
