AFCON 2019: NFF Assures Super Eagles of Fixing Friendly Matches Ahead African Nations Cup By Sampson Adedeji In readiness for the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed that Nigeria's Super Eagles will utilize the two FIFA window to fix international friendly matches before the competition. After the completion of AFCON 2019 qualifier, Super Eagles are scheduled to play Pharaoh of Egypt on Tuesday in an international friendly arranged for the team. In an Executive meeting held in Asaba on Monday, the country's football governing body stated their readiness to assist the team in whatever form particularly using the FIFA window to arrange different friendly matches for Super Eagles that which will propel the team to greater heights at the African Nations Cup. No team was mention as proposed opponent but the federation promised that it will arrange with countries to engage in friendly matches before the 2019 African Nations Cup in Egypt. Nigeria returned to AFCON after missing the last two editions of the competition.
