National Association of Nigeria Footballers (NANF) has described the arraignment of three NFF staffers of the Nigeria Football Federation over the misappropriation of alleged $9.5m FIFA grant as a show of shame.
The Nigeria Players' Association added that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had not acted swiftly on many alleged embezzlement, diversion and looting of the NFF treasury despite several petitions flooding the EFCC office.
In a letter made available to www.bsnsports.com.ng titled signed by the association president, Harrison Jalla, titled; "Alleged Theft of N3.4 billion Naira 'Arraign Amaju Pinnick, Shehu Dikko, Mohammed Sanusi and Ahmed Yusuf Fresh Now or NANF Will Seek A Mandamus Order to Compel The EFCC to Do So," reads in parts:
"That the arraigment of three staffers of the NFF on Thursday the 18th of October while shielding principal officers like Amaju, Shehu Dikko, Mohammed Sanusi and Ahmed Yusuf Fresh is a show of shame." Harrison Jalla said.
The body threatened the anti graft agency to arraign the above named NFF principal officers before the next adjournment date adding that failure to do so, NANF will initiate a judicial process to seek a mandatory order to compel the EFCC to do the needful.
