NFF CORRUPTION SCANDAL SEASON 1 :
• Tenebe asks Katu to park well

By Amaechi Agbo

Mr Jarett Tenebe, one of the nation’s football aficionado and club owner has dispatched the latest letter from the lawyers of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) originating from Mamman Nasir, a Kaduna-based law firm saying “they are chasing shadows”

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Sunday, the former NFA factional chairman during Aminu Maigari board said “Mr Katu, the lawyer to Pinnick and his fellow accused person should develop or go to the market and buy some morality. Having served as the chairman of the election committee in Katsina, he should have known there will arise the conflict of interest.
“With this representation, he has raised issues of the fairness and freedom of the Katsina election. If I had participated in that election, I would have proceeded to court to seek it to be cancelled. Mr Katu is making his money from his clients. We understand that and he should let that remain and don’t come and insult football investors and the other stakeholders with his infantile arguments,”

“I laughed at the threat that his clients have the ambition to go to court. Which court are they talking about? Nigerian court? The same courts they have a penchance of disparaging? Have they forgotten that there is a subsisting Supreme Court order high does not see Pinnick as the NFF President.

“Please tell them to go and respect the bail conditions given them by the Special Presidential panel on public properties (SPIPP). Waiting for a warrant to be secured on you is a show that they are not gentlemen. Did Katu read the EFCC report to the President?

“His letter to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation is so hollow and pedestrian. How can a lawyer ask the AGF to take over investigation? When did the AGF become an investigating agency? This second one is playing to public emotion. I am interested in which court will ask criminal investigation of people who are alleged to have pilfered almost N8billion not to be investigated.

“I wonder if that man practices law. May be he is involved in money-laden suits and not legal advocacy. If this is the quality of lawyers in this clime, why do we preach social order? Abegunde, make Uba tell the man to keep chopping his free money but make him buy sense join”

“I don’t know of any other matter, as for the ongoing investigation by the Okoi Obong-Obla panel, nobody can stop them. There are several Supreme Court decisions on this. Tell Katu to go and read his law reports well. When his clients are arraigned, they can go and bring the AGF to come and file nolle prosecui and we shall rule the rest of the story through self help.
