Seyi Akinwunmi, the First Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has dismissed reports that Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, received a query after their 2-0 defeat to Croatia.
Speaking to newsmen in Saint Petersburg, Russia, Akinwunmi expressed optimism ahead of Friday’s crucial Group D match against Iceland, that the German will qualify the team for the knockout stages.
He said: “The NFF is solidly behind its coach.
“Certainly, after the match, there will be discussions as usual. On the web, there are different forums talking about his tactics and what the Super Eagles should.
“But nobody has queried Rohr. We believe he will qualify us for the next round, the same way he qualified us for this competition.”
