NFF Elections: Abuja SWAN congratulates Pinnick, Fresh, Kwande, others By Ikenna Okonkwo Sports media Practitioners under the aegis of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), FCT Chapter have congratulated the re-elected President Amaju Pinnick, Vice Presidents Seyi Akinwumi and Shehu Dikko as well as executive members Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf Fresh and Hon Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande among others after keenly contested election of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) held in Katsina. In a statement issued in Abuja, Chairman of FCT SWAN, Comrade Ndubueze Chidoka expressed optimism that with the return of virtually all executive committee members under Pinnick leadership, more impetus was guaranteed for Nigerian football. While describing Alhaji Fresh and Yahaya-Kwande as Apostles of grassroots football development especially within the Nation’s capital, north-central and the entire Nation, Comrade Chidoka enjoined them and other newly inaugurated leaders of NFF to re-double efforts in steering the ship of the country’s soccer fraternity to Eldorado. The Abuja SWAN Boss further noted, “Though I was away for my dear father’s burial, same day the election held, I was duly briefed how the process of electing new NFF board members was conducted devoid of rancour. “It is my utmost desire and prayer that under the leadership of the re-elected NFF President, Nigerian football will grow from strength to strength in the next four years. Now is the time to spare no commitment in rallying all Stakeholders to work harmoniously towards same course of football forward in Nigeria and beyond. “On our part, we will continuously give you needed support within our immediate professional jurisdiction.”
