NFF, FIFA status is superior to Nigeria Supreme Court ..... Amaju Congress declares

NFF,
NFF, FIFA status is superior to Nigeria Supreme Court ..... Amaju Congress declares These are really not the best of time for the Nigeria Judiciary and they must indeed stand up to speak against the backdrop of the happenings in Nigeria football if their words are to be taken seriously henceforth. On Thursday, 2018 in the ancient City of Benin, the deposed president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Melvin Pinnick and his illegal Congress men told the whole world in very clear language that The Nigeria Football Federation can never be subjected to the Nigeria law, be it the Supreme Court. This assertion was contained in a communique released after a Congress held against the order by the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports whom they dishonourably disrespected. Putting it in their language, they said, "We affirm that Association Football is governed by Statutes (NFF and FIFA Statutes) and clearly set out rules and regulations, to which all members and participants in Association Football voluntarily subscribe and, are obligated to respect and uphold," They also maintained that the Nigeria Government has ceded to them the right to be independent of Nigeria government interference. "We Emphasize that the adoption of the operation of the NFF Statutes in Nigeria (Management and Regulation of football activities in Nigeria) was duly approved and endorsed by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at its meeting of Wednesday January 5th, 2005 Conclusion EC (2005) 1st Meeting. The National Assembly also duly approved and endorsed this decision of Federal Government. Furthermore, the Federal Government also duly provided a written undertaking to FIFA in 2007, as a condition for Nigeria’s further membership and participation in FIFA and its activities, to guarantee that NFF is strictly organized, administered and regulated in line with the NFF Statutes. The illegal Congress therefore stressed that in view of that they have the right to place on ban any person or persons who do not go by their rules, "That, consequent upon a previous oral undertaking which culminated in the written one in the same terms by the Federal Government, since 2006, football in Nigeria has been administered in line with the Federation’s Statutes, which clearly prohibits any member or stakeholder from taking football matter to ordinary court of law," Even with their bragging and efforts to shut out the Nigeria Government from taking part in the management of football in the country it should be placed on record that the Nigeria Government is still fully responsible for the payment of the salaries of the workers in the football house. They also carry the responsibility of sponsoring all the National teams for international and National tournaments.
