NFF Inaugurates Delta State FA Normalization Committee Despite Fuludu’s Grudges
By Niyi Busari
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will on Thursday, inaugurated a four-man Normalization Committee that will manage football affairs in Delta State and also set up mechanism and conduct the election of Delta State Football Association (F A) for the executive that will be in charge of the association for the next tenure.
The inauguration was made by Ibrahim Musa Gusau, the Chairman of Chairmen of all FA state chairmen in the federation and the South South coordinator of Chairmen in the Zone, Emmanuel Egba.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Gusau asserted that the Normalization Committee has the responsibility to handle all issues in football in the State within three months and conduct a very free and fair election for the FA Board.
The inaugurated committee has Henry Nkeki as the Chairman, Emmanuel Nuhu, Mitchel Amani as members while Azuka Ogosi remains the secretary.
Gusau and Egba advised the committee to be responsible in handling the matter as they have to be focused in their duties and ensure that they leave no one in doubt of their capability in the given period.
NFF invoked Article 8.2, 14 (1) of FIFA Statues to create the Normalization Committee following the seemingly quagmire that has evolved from the management of the F A by the acting Chairman, Edema Fuludu who was alleged to have mismanaged the FA’s fund without any cognizance of other members of the Board and they got him suspended in their congress of February 6, 2019 at Patrick Okpomo Football House, Asaba.
The Congress which was headed by Ejiro Balogun had other Board members present including Kenneth Nwaomucha, Lucky Sunday Nkeki, Victor Ikpeba and the F A Secretary, Azuka Ogosi while Alex Amudo and Rev J G Okoh were unavoidably abscent.
It was however disturbing to understand that Fuludu has been reportedly disparaging the formation of the Normalization Committee; allegedly saying that he has been elected as the Delta State F A Chairman and Victor Ikpeba as the Vice Chairman, that he would therefore, not accept any other F A Chairman in the State. It was also lamented that it was Ikpeba who seconded the motion that suspended Fuludu in the February 6, 2019 congress how come he has become the Vice to the chairman he seconded the motion to suspend?
Some stake holders who chose to be anonymous, has requested to know when and where the said election that brought him to power as F A Chairman was conducted as well as the NFF officials that actually supervised the conduct of the said election.
The NFF has done what they said, is in the provision of the rules of the F A as provided by the football governing body, FIFA and that is the needful.
