NFF Katsina Election: Pinnick Spends N3.15m on Purchase of Forms, As Three North Central Members Refuse to step Down For Ahmed Fresh

Thus, the last has been heard about the NFF September election slated for Katsina state as BSN Sports correspondent close to the glass house stumbled on a newsworthy report from NFF headquarter in Abuja. In a desperate move to ensure that he remains as the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick has decided to entice his twelve (12) board members with a sum of N3.15 million (Three million one Hundred and fifty thousand Naira) to curry their favour for the forthcoming NFF election holding in Katsina, on September 29. Our findings at the Secretariat of the NFF revealed that the amount is being expended in the procurement of electoral forms for all the current Board members. He paid Two million and five hundred thousand (N2.5 million) for the ten (10) Ordinary members in the Board, for ten forms at Two hundred and fifty thousand (N250,000) naira each, while that of the Vice president and President went for N300,000 (Three hundred thousand) & N350,000.00 (Three hundred and fifty thousand) respectively. However, two members Otunba Dele Ajayi from Ekiti State and Christopher Green from Rivers State rejected the forms, while NNL Chairman Chidi Offor Okenwa decided to jettison his position in the League Body and inherited one of the forms rejected by the two above mentioned members. Otunba Dele Ajayi has decided to give the incumbent Seyi Akinwumi from Lagos State a fight alongside Anambra State FA Vice Chairman Barrister Kingsley Obienu for the post of the first vice president. We further gathered that the likes of Ahmed Yusuf Fresh and Suleiman Kwande are trying to reach out to other aspirants from the North Central to allow them only this one more tenure alone, after serving eight (8) years each. They are however meeting a stumbling block as the likes of FCT FA Chairman Musa Talle and his counterparts from Benue and Kwara FAs are not ready to step down because they want to also vie for the office and as at the time of this report, their forms which they bought have been submitted. The three North Central FA chairmen insisted that Ahmed Yusuf Fresh and Suleiman Kwande should also step down for them because they have already enjoyed the post for eight years as board members.
