NFF Leadership Crisis: Court Adjourns Case Till Wednesday For Hearing

By Admin The Federal High Court in Jos has adjourned till Wednesday, August 1, for hearing of the motion to vacate the court’s previous orders granting recognition to the Chris Giwa-led Nigeria Football Federation board (NFF) while invalidating the process that brought Amaju Pinnick as the NFF president, Basic Sports in Nigeria (BSN Sports) reports. This is because the presiding judge Justice Musa Kurya was absent. BSN Sports learnt that the judge travelled out of the country for an official engagement, but had a flight delay while returning to Nigeria. Lawyers to Pinnick had filed a motion to dismiss the orders, and the court has now adjourned till August 1, for hearing of the motion. Recall that the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami had on July ordered the minister of youth and Sports to reinstate Ambassador Giwa following the interpretation of Supreme court judgement. Also, last Monday a letter emanated from the office of the AGF that the status quo ante should be maintained. That is, the Amaju Pinnick board should return back to office as the NFF president.
