NFF Leadership Tussle: Jos High Court Adjourns Case Till September 25

NFF
By Admin Nigerians who expected the Jos High Court to come up with a decisive ruling on the lingering case of the leadership of the NFF were left disappointed as the case is yet again adjourned to 25th September 2018. The suspense that has been experienced in the leadership tussle rocking Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is bound to continue, as the Jos High Court adjourned till September 25 hearing in the case between the warring groups for control of the body’s executive committee and presidency. While Nigerian football followers have expected the court to make a decisive ruling on the tussle between Amaju Pinnick and Chris Giwa, the Federal High Court in Jos rose till September for further hearing of the case, in defiance of a possible ban by world soccer governing body, FIFA. This is despite the case having gone as far as the Supreme Court, which ruled that Pinnick step aside for Giwa as NFF president pending the determination of the main suit. It was hoped that the court order against Pinnick, who FIFA recognise as the duly elected president of the NFF, would be vacated by the Jos court on Tuesday. Counsels to both Pinnick and Giwa admitted that FIFA had warned on the consequences of the current situation in the country. Festus Keyamo, who previously represented the NFF on this case, warned the court that a worldwide ban against the country was now imminent. Keyamo advised the court not to take a long date, as FIFA are waiting for the outcome of this suit to take a decision on Nigeria.
