NFF Makes U-Turn, Flies Eagles To Jo’burg From Asaba Airport By Segun Balogun Nigeria’s Super Eagles have routed their flight to Johannesburg, South Africa from Asaba today (Thursday) instead of Benin City for Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Bafana Bafana. They are expected to fly out at 5pm. A message from the twitter handle from the Delta state government confirmed the change of plans. “The Asaba International Airport will record its first international flight out of Asaba today, as @NGSuperEagles depart for South Africa ahead of #RSANGA this Saturday,” read the tweet. In the build-up to the match, the Eagles camped in Asaba since Monday and had their last training session on Wednesday which was closed to the public. They would to train at the FNB stadium on Friday afternoon and return to Asaba on Saturday ahead of Tuesday’s friendly against the Cranes of Uganda.
