NFF Plans To Stop Panel Dragging Pinnick Others To Court on Alleged Corruption Revealed

By Admin

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have petitioned the Attorney General of the Federation to stop the Presidential Panel from dragging Amaju Pinnick and several other top officials from appearing in court in a case of conspiracy and alleged diversion of public funds.

This comes as latest information has it that some of the principal NFF officials being investigated by the Presidential Panel have gone into hiding after the news broke out they will be arraigned in court this week.

BSN Sports gathered that on the prompting of “a powerful backer”, the NFF petitioned the Attorney General Abubakar Malami, who is known to have supported the officials, demanding that his office stop the Presidential Panel from prosecuting them.

“The NFF officials have been made sacred cows, they are above the law even when the allegations against them a most damning,” an official lamented.
“While other top government officials have been investigated and are facing trial, someone now is trying to shield the NFF chieftains from same.” told ScoreNigeria.

Another official dismissed that the Attorney General could interfere with the work of the Presidential Panel.
“The panel reports directly to President Buhari, they do not take orders from the Attorney General,” he maintained.
“So, this latest ploy by the NFF to escape justice is an exercise in futility.”

The top officials have abandoned their offices and have now gone into hiding.
“They are just cowards,” a source said.
“Or why are they running and going into hiding?”
Besides Pinnick, NFF Vice-Presidents Seyi Akinwunmi, Shehu Dikko, Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi as well as executive committee member Ahmed Yusuf ‘Fresh’ and Alizor Chuks from the marketing department have been investigated by the Presidential Panel.
They have all been listed among the officials to be banned from leaving the country until the criminal case against them has been determined.
