NFF Set Up Normlization Committee To Take Charge of Delta FA

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has constituted a Normalization Committee for Delta State Football Association over failure of the state FA to conduct elections for electing Local Football Councils, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In a letter with Ref No: NFF/GEN/385/1/42 sent by the NFF to the Delta state FA, the federation explained that despite agreement that the Delta State FA should start the process to conduct elections for the Local Football Councils delegates that will form the Congress. According to the letter sent on January 15th, 2020, it is in the view of the state FA inability to conduct the said election and the fact that the State Executive Board has expired and in line with the provision of Article 8.2, 14(1)(a) of FIFA Statute, 2019, that the Nigeria Football Federation constitute a normalization committee.

The letter reads in parts: "In view of the inability of the state Football Association Executive Board to conduct the said elections, considering series of correspondence between the State Football and NFF, and the fact that the tenure of the FA Board has expired, and following the provision of Art. 8.2 14(1)(a) of FIFA Statutes 2019, the Nigeria Football Federation do hereby constitute a Normalization Committee for Delta State Football Association."
