By Admin President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ambassador Chris Giwa, has shortlisted three persons for the post of the Secretary-General of the Federation. Giwa took over the affairs of the NFF early this week following the directives of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung. A source close to the Giwa board told Trubunesport on Thursday by phone that the NFF boss has shortlisted three persons out of which one will be picked to replace Muhammad Sanusi, the secretary-general of the NFF under Amaju Pinnick. Two out of the shortlisted candidates are from the South-South zone of the country while the third person is from the North West. “Let me inform you that one of the shortlisted candidates from the South-South zone is seriously considering taking up the appointment while the second person is being political about it and not bold enough to identify with Giwa publicly but working for him underground. The third person who is from Jigawa state was said to have requested for time to consult with stakeholders within the zone,” the source said. The source, Who pleaded not to be mentioned, added: “The idea behind this is to break the ranks of the Amaju Pinnick group which has remained intact since the crisis started a few days ago, but the announcement will be made once they agree to the terms, but he [Giwa] may settle for a South-South person to placate the zone whose son was just removed as president.”
