By Niyi Busari
The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick has said that the Super Falcon coach will be appointed before the end of April 2020, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
Since the resignation of Thomas Dennerby (the former Super Falcons coach) in September 2019, the federation has not appointed a substantive coach but contracted the appointment of head coach to PriceWaterHouseCooper Nigeria (PwC Nig), the company where interested coaches submitted their applications to undergo interview before appointment.
PwC was contracted as consultant to advertise the vacant post and give Nigeria a world class coach this month.
Amaju Pinnick in an interview with Channels TV monitored BSN Sports by said: "It is supposed to have been done by now, like i said, we contracted it out to PwC as consultant to advertise and give us a world class coach and they were in the process of doing that before this lockdown starts." Pinnick said.
"We gave them deadline to appoint a coach for the Falcons before the end of April. So that the coach can start work immediately but the good news is that we have a lot of world class coaches are interested. If i mention their names you will be shocked but i dont want to do that.
"But i assure you that we are going to get Nigeria the best for the Falcons." He concluded.
Former Falconets coach, Christopher Danjuma was appointed as interim Super Falcon coach after the exit of Thomas Dennerby, but failed to qualify the African champions for the 2020 Olympics.
The nine-time African champions lost on goal difference to Cote d'Ivoire after playing a 0-0 draw in Ivory Coast and a 1-1 draw at the Agege stadium, Lagos.
