NFF To Move To New Secretariat in February

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is expected to move to their new headquarters, "Sunday Dankaro House," located within Abuja's Moshood Abiola National Stadium, in February, according to Dr Mohammed Sanusi, the Federation's Secretary-General.

"By God's grace, the NFF will be moving to the new office in about a month's time. All the furniture for the office is here."

"The cladding work on the building is supposed to be finished in a week or two, while the internal work will take about three weeks," said Sanusi, speaking to a select group of people on "Football Africa Arena", a high-profile social media group comprised of notable football personalities across the African continent.

"We did not just renovate the building but we have had to reconstruct the office," Sanusi went on.

The current NFF administration, headed by Amaju Pinnick, has been under severe criticism for failing to move into the building for the last six years, after it was officially commissioned by Goodluck Jonathan, then President of Nigeria, in 2013.

Pinnick and the current NFF board took over the organisation's affairs in September 2014.

For several years, Sunday Dankaro House fell into a horrendous state of disrepair, as it was not used.

Top officials of the NFF claim that petitions made against them, with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other anti-corruption agencies in Nigeria, made it impossible for them to complete a move to the new building.
