NFF To Outsource Distribution of FIFA, CAF Support Funds To PwC - Pinnick
By Niyi Busari
The President, Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick has said that the federation is in talks with the Price Water Coopers (PwC) Nigeria to distribute the Covid-19 Relief funds to the beneficiaries, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
Pinnick had said that funds from FIFA are not meant to be distributed to beneficiaries but bowed to pressure from Nigeria media before coming up with the distribution pattern.
Pinnick, while reacting to questions on Channels TV on Thursday, explaining how the funds will get to the beneficiaries, said: "And when we distribute, we are not to just distribute because we know the system must be very thorough. So, we are also talking to PwC our external auditors to see how we can outsource the distribution of funds to them. This is because they will distribute and track. So we are talking to them but they are very busy right now. I pray that we do not have to do it ourselves but if we need to do it ourselves, we have a very competent Director of Finance and very competent finance team. Our (NFF) account is domiciled in CBN and the money goes out from there and hit the accounts of all beneficiaries. And we are not taking out a dime as cash out of it.
He said that the federation will be very transparent when the funds finally gets to them.
"The Covid-19 Relief funds distribution is a very thorough process and that was why we didn't come out since, we waited because there was a follow up meeting with FIFA and CAF presidents and informed us on what they wanted to do and when the money will come.
"You can see clearly that the distribution is not what anyone can put together. Even when we have finished everything, i personally have to send it to FIFA to have their buy on it.
"Not that we have received the money. In fact, we have not received practically large chunk of the funds. We are expecting the one from Caf latest on Monday, we are expecting a Million dollars from FIFA now, then we have received $500,000 in January.
"The ones from sponsors are here already, so, the distribution starts." He concluded.
