Nigeria's U23 Eagles crashed out of the 2019 U23 African Cup of Nations in Egypt after recording a 0-0 draw with South Africa in their last group B match, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The U23 Eagles before the group's final match needed a win while their opponent, South Africa needed a draw to progress to the semifinal of the competition a step further to picking one of the three Olympic tickets.

With the draw, Nigeria would have qualified for the semifinals but Ivorian attacker, Dabila Kouadilo's 61st minute header that left Zambia goalkeeper with no answer, the lone goal dropped Nigeria to the third position on the log.

The last group games were played simultaneously between the four group B countries. As Nigeria took on South Africa, Cote d'Ivoire and Zambia were also battling to pick a slot.

With the result, Nigeria will not feature in the Men's and Women's football event in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
