Nigeria 1 Cape Verde 1 : Osimhen Strikes To Help Super Eagles Into World Cup Qualifier playoffs

Nigeria booked a place in the playoff stages of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers following a 1-1 draw against Cape Verde in the final group games of the qualification at the Teslim Balogun stadium, Lagos Tuesday evening, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Victor Osimhen scored an early goal in the second minutes raising hope that the Super Eagles will whitewash the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde. The hopes were dashed four minutes later when the second-placed Cape Verde drew level in the 6th minute. Despite the draw the three-time African champions qualified for the final round of African World Cup qualifiers in March, 2022. Nigeria finished group C with 13 points while Cape Verde garnered 11 points to be placed second and crashed out of the World Cup qualifiers.
